This Danish drama was a 2011 Sundance Film Festival selection and it won both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for best foreign language film. The movie tells the story of a doctor who commutes between his home in an idyllic town in Denmark and his work at an African refugee camp. In these different worlds, he and his family face conflicts that lead them to difficult choices between revenge and forgiveness. The doctor and his wife, who have two young sons, struggle with the possibility of divorce. After being bullied at school, their eldest son and his new friend engage in a dangerous act that puts lives in danger. The film is directed by acclaimed Danish filmmaker Susanne Bier and stars Mikael Persbrandt, best known to the Filmworks audience for his role in the Swedish drama Everlasting Moments.
