WHO ARE WE?
Fresno Filmworks is a community-based, nonprofit organization with a 16-member board. We have more than 25 business sponsors, more than 300 individual sponsors, and nearly 900 direct-mail subscribers to our monthly newsletter, Clips.
WHAT DO WE DO?
We bring first-run, high-quality independent and international films to Fresno’s historic Tower Theatre on the second Friday of each month. We also present the annual Fresno Film Festival each spring and support other community film events. All showings are open to the public.
WHY IS FFW NEEDED?
No commercial theater in the Fresno/Clovis area has consistently offered a regular series of world-class independent movies to central San Joaquin Valley film lovers. Fresno viewers often have to drive to Los Angeles or San Francisco to see the many exciting, prize-winning films that never reach local screens.
HOW DID FFW START?
A group of local film lovers founded Filmworks in 2001. Filmworks began showing films at the Fresno Art Museum in March 2002 and moved to the Tower Theater three months later.
